I brought a Citroen Berlingo recently, it turns out to have a leaking heater matrix. The Dealer says this is wear and tear and wont consider doing anything. He has put radweld in and seems to think thats enough (it only stopped the leak for a couple of days.

There is more on it http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/car-wa...

Any ideas about a heater matrix failing being wear and tear ?

Thanks Rob

i'd more concerned that the system has had radweld in it, rather than anything else.

In answer to the question, it depends how old it is. If its less than 5 years old then no, its not 'normal' wear and tear.
If its more than that, then it is sometimes to be expected.
Still i'd have thought i would remedy the problem if you push hard enough, if not come to some arrangement with him.

The car has to be fit for purpose, so unless there is documented evidence that the dealer made you aware of the problem at the time of your purchase, I would imaging he is responsible for fixing the fault. If he does not respond, I would involve trading standards.

bks. I would not consider any part of the cooling system to be a wear and tear item. Go back and press him into fixing it.
