Was chatting to a friend who couldn't believe that I still had the Skoda Felicia I bought as a stop gap 2 years ago. He thought it would feel like something from the stone age in comparison to my BMW 335i. It does actually, but in a good way.

Anyway, 306bhp minus 59bhp gives 247bhp difference.

O-60, 5.4 seconds versus 13.5 gives 8.1 seconds difference.

Anyone else have cars of massively different performance?

Porsche 996 turbo and Ford Focus 1.6 (petrol).

Love them both for totally different reasons.

If it's on performance then some of my work vans are getting a bit tired and probably pulling 0 - 60 in about 50 seconds, compared to my car at just under 4.

Mind you, at least the vans earn money, the car just pisses it away.

Cheating a bit but the cars are 306bhp and 255bhp so not much. I've got a horsebox with a mahoosive 100bhp, although that sould be nearer 140 after tomorrow's remap.

But the real cheat is the motocross bike 30bhp, so 306 - 30 = 276bhp difference.

Got another bike in the middle with 193bhp too, now that is fun.

Escort Van 1.8 (non turbo) Diesel.
&
Subaru Impreza Turbo.

Well was that till a few weeks ago.

Also have had a Vauxhall Combo van and an Elise. they might have had different dynamics but they had the same indicator and wiper stalks!

1983 BMW E30 320i Auto and a Volvo V40 T4. Only 80 bhp between them but a huge difference in real terms.

Porsche 911
Land Rover Series II Diesel

Power difference of perhaps 170bhp. Not sure I've ever seen 60mph in the Landy.

At one point we had a near 300 NHL turbo wagon and a White 1.4 automatic corsa.

Running them in convoy, the corsa burnt a lot of fuel keeping even moderate pace.

BMW 320d - 163bhp / ~1400kg
Lotus Elise S2 111S - 160bhp / 806kg

smile To be honest I never really floor it in either - straight line performance doesn't really interest me on the road that much - if I've enjoyed the previous corner, I'll have left it at the speed limit anyway driving
