I've just won this on eBay and was wondering what fellow Pistonheads and Mercedes enfusiasts would do with the car.

Retro-track day car, hotrod, restoration, modernization or just fix and use.

What do you guys think?

Feel free to photoshop the images and repost suggestions.

I'm not into the whole chrome spinning wheel trim look so apart from that any suggestions greatfully recieved. smile

Subtle suspension drop and a set of 16" Eight hole alloys or AMG's. Maybe a dechrome?

+1 for keeping it original, it's older than me so has done well to stay so smart for so long. smile

I like that, I wouldn't mind one myself. A bigger engine would be my preference.
What did it cost?

Clean it, fix broken bits and drive.

Any more details on it?

these are cracking cars and increasing in value - DO NOT MODIFY - clean it up, put in repair arches where required (they all go so its to be expected) make sure its nice and tidy and you'll be in the money should you ever come to sell.

Good ebaying!

This and smoke around in it. The only other option would be an AMG derived V8 and lots of suspension magic.

Another vote for keeping it original from me Robert.

I had one of these a few years ago, good waft mobile with amazingly springy seats.

Getting rare now, so if it is any good, keep it straight! Leave the messing around to old Fiats!

Keep it original or at most upgrade to the 280 engine.

I really love that colour on Mercs of that age (silverblau metallic iirc) and love the W123. The arches don't even look too bad on that one

Get it MOT'd and drive it. I wouldn't bother restoring it, I quite like the aged look.*

Although a V8 transplant sounds good scratchchin

*WARNING: If you take this option at some point a dick head will approach you to talk about your "rat-look mobile."
