Reading the "What shouldn't be on cars" thread made me wonder which car ticks the PH pure-driving boxes?

Nominate absolutely anything you want, of any age...there are no restrictions in this thread! The only thing I ask is that you post a picture of your nomination.




I'll kick things off with mine, because I found it refreshing to have no traction control/bleeps/cupholders etc.

We had a new GTV when they came out. Yes they can be fun but I wouldn't call it purist. Still too heavy and FWD.

agreed, but this is in comparison to a MK4 Golf GTI...with that in mind, i'm sure you'd agree that it ticks a lot more of the purist boxes.

this is just my experience...and it all depends what you class as "purism".

Surely the purist new cars you can get would be some form of caterham, or Trad Morgan. You could probably add any TVR if you allow older cars

Same as the OP, except it has cup holders...

A very balanced car and great driver involvement without scaring yourself stless.

Also it's very reliable.

Pure to me equates to the lowest possible weight and least amount of gadgets. So an Atom with no roof, doors or heater would tick that box.

But leaving aside purism. I personally preferred my (mk4) R32 to the GTV in most respects. The low seating of the Alfa and it's looks are good though!

An Atom has more equipment then these, so this is as pure as they come.
