I want people’s opinions and past or present experiences of the cars mentioned or similar to the cars mentioned thank you.

Ok I’m looking at spending around 5k to 6k on a new car i have been looking at bmw 330ci, but then I’m thinking that the running costs will be to high what are they like as far as running one over a period of a year, I realise that my budget will only get me a pre facelift high mileage car, is that a problem?
On the other hand I have been looking at fast(ish) hatchbacks such as the mk4 astra gsi i know that they are two completely different cars but I quite like them and know about their running costs as family member had a coupe turbo.

Any cars you can recommend that fall between the two main criteria is as close to 30 or above mpg please. NO SCOOBY, EVO, M cars, AMG...

what kind of mpg does the e46 get? (ranging from the 320ci to the 330ci). some people seem to say that the 320i gets 35-40mpg. which seems pretty good (when you compare it to a 1.6 ford)

In your humble opinion.

Do feel free to post better value cars. So the first one might be quite strong money but it comes with the 100% piece of mind of a manufacturers warranty for 12 months which can be extended and helps resale.

Post away your better suggestions!
