I know this comes up all the time however I am looking for advice for my younger brother who will be learning to drive in April and I am shocked at the prices even for a boggo Fiat Panda it comes to over £3k. When I started driving in 2005 when 17 I paid £1400 for a C2 1.1 and my other brother in 2007 paid £1,000 for a Suzuki Swift 1.3! Has insurance really doubled since then or am I looking in the wrong places. Churchill and directline used to be the cheapest but now they wont even quote. Admiral, elephant etc have all quoted high.

Any ideas guys?

Use the search feature, there is a thread on this once a day and the answers are always the same.

Insurance is a rip off for young drivers now.
