Not of the domestic kind! The Mrs, in her wisdom, decided to try and remove frost from the windscreen of her corsa with the metal edge of a lever arch file! Now there are nurmerous scratches on the glass...just a week before we are due to trade the car infurious

Is there anything cheap someone I can suggest to remove the scratches? Or is it a new windscreen????!

Try toothpaste if they aren't too deep.

Hope they dont notice?

Or failing that, be honest, they might be able to buff it out, or if sales are really low, they might not want to risk the deal for the sake of a cheap windscreen and let you off.

Depends where you're trading it in really, a main dealer may well not notice (or even care for the sake of the deal) but an indy/one man band will notice and knock you down on it. My advice would be do the deal on a day when it's raining, will be very difficult to notice then, otherwise accidentally on purpose damage it and for the £60 excess get auto windscreens to replace.

New windscreen if you have a sensible excess or own up and I guess they should reduce your trade in by £50-100 but no more.

It is very difficult to polish out windscreen scratches effectively.

+1 what the rest say.

Oh, and try to get your wife to engage brain and stop doing stupid things when you get the new car. Chances are she will probably so something equally stupid to the new vehicle, leaving you with no choice but to exact revenge on her shoes.

Has she done this kind of thing before?

Ooh. I like where this is going!

Planman, do tell! Did you tan the derriere of the lady in question (and, more importantly, did you record it?)
