We Buy Any Car valuation - ouch!

Just that really, ouch!

About a grand under what I've been told by two dealers they've been offered in the trade (ie not ramped up by over allowing instead of discounting the new car).

Now I know how they pay for all those adverts...

Time to try somewhere else...

Sometimes they can surprise you. In November 2009, SWMBO chopped in a '53 Clio 172 for an S2000. We didn't really know what the Clio was worth as a part ex and was guessing at about £3k. A we buy any car valuation came back at £3,750, and we got £3,800 for it.

Seems odd for their web value to be so far away, they usually highball and kick you in the nuts later.

They also have a wierd 'fee' for buying your car. Its a company run by nobheads for nobheads.

I know someone who got shot of a tigra to them but didn't read the small print and was gutted when they realised the fee came from their side of the deal. They ended up getting less than scrap value for it.

£75 IIRC just to evaluate it and that comes out of the final price

When you drop the car off at the depot their assessor's are on commission of £100.00 per extra thing they find wrong with the car (scratch, incorrect service history, excessive stone chips etc.) that you didn't put on your original description.

After I had an offer for my car, I sent them a reply saying that if I wanted my car stolen, I'd leave it un-locked, with the keys in the ignition...

My mate got £300 (before the admin fee) for a 2001 Vectra V6 Sri with 9 months MOT and some tax...I would have described it as the most 'mint' Vectra B Sri in the northern hemisphere.

Slightly annoyed, as i would have given him the same £250 for it!
