Mercedes SL - what car question

I've got a mate who wants to indulge and get a Merc SL350... problem is he wants more than 2 seats!He's after a flash motor, one that will turn heads.

I would love to throw this out to you guys - what 4 door car out there is equivelant to the new SL?

The CLS is an interesting one.

He's after 4 seats so he can get the family/friends into it, he'd mentioned the Panamera hence I thought I better create this thread and push some other ideas toward him!

I don't know what a Panama is, do you mean the Porsche Panamera? If so a Maser Quattroporte or Granturismo should be a good alternative.

Either your man has a very broad budget or Panameras are depreciating rapidly...

Why not a CL, engines only come in 5 litre and above, but it is the closest thing to an SL with 4 seats.
CLK is nice, but is a step down from the SL, comfort/equipment wise.
