Can anyone on here beat that??

Just drove from just south of Birmingham to my home in kent and didnt touch my brakes for roughly 150miles. Not even once!

Course this was after some utter COCK!!!! slammed his door into my car at some motorway services and then denied it and wouldnt apologise merely said its an old car (2001 A4) and the dent could have been there before. Like fk. Still pissed off parked off to the side in the middle of three empty bays and he parks right up close to the side of my car so he can slam his door into it.

COCK!!!
If anyone knows the owner or driver of a silver mondeo estate reg FP59OLG can you let them know they are a and should learn some respect for other peoples property.

It may be old but it is generally speaking well taken care of.

Anyway anyone care to try beat my 150 miles?

I've done about a hundred miles in my MG without a clutch after it dumped its clutch fluid all over my feet, which was a challenge, especially entering Nottingham city centre during rush hour at the end of the trip.

Junction 7 of the M62 to the A10 turn off on the M25 is my longest. Must be about 200 miles or so?

On a long road trip I managed just over 300 miles without using the brakes, I could have gone longer but I needed to refuel.

Sadly i am simply not that sort of person. Would rather beat him unconscious than damage his car.

managed 30 miles the other day with no brakes in a defender 110...

They did work, but my brake lights did not and thus I did not want anybody ploughing into the back of me.

So each and every junction was a laborious lesson in engine braking.

I did a similar thing a few years ago driving across Germany from Holland to the Czech Republic.

Once up to speed on the autobahn, a bit of forward planning meant that I could just vary my speed with the accelerator.

I had to brake slightly at Bad Oeynhausen (nightmare; three lane autobahn becomes two lane 50kmh through the centre of town with less than 1km warning), and again once I was over the border to CZ and the road becomes crap, but apart from that, I don't think I touched them!

I once drove over 200 miles through Nevada and Death Valley in a Dodge Viper with no clutch, but that's an entirely different story..........laugh

I drove from one side of Utah to the other without touching the brakes. I couldn't because my feet were up on the dash with the cruise control set to 110. Ah the impetuousness of youth...

Have to say it was a fairly cool experience. I generally try not to use the brakes too much anyway but decided for a laugh to see how far i could go.

The whole thing of setting myself at 80mph and then sticking to it and to lane discipline.
Into l1 truck ahead move to l2 past truck back to l1 car and truck ahead out to l3 with plenty of time, past back to l1 etc.

Planning ahead for trucks pulling out, sliproads etc and getting it right so i didnt have to brake was hugely satisfying.

Also made a substantial difference to my fuel useage as well. I always knew that braking loses a lot of energy and causes you to use more fuel but the difference when you are really working at it is quite noticeable.

I once drove for 8 days without using my brakes as I was working 12hr shifts and couldn't get time to fix it. Nearside caliper was sticking, if I applied the brakes they were then permanently applied. This included 40 miles a day going through Belfast to get to work.

Is driving around with no working brakes really something to be proud of? Because I bet if you posted that you were driving with 4 bald tyres you would get destroyed on here...

Report them for failing to give their details following an accident.

Seriously.

Not sure about not touching brakes. How about not using the steering wheel?

But I've driven this a couple of times.

I lost all the material from a rear brake pad a few years back in my 200SX - on entry to a roundabout in Wales. I had to drive home with no brake use, pretty much although I do remember having to brake at one roundabout. It was A-roads rather than Motorway.

No brakes I can do - not sure about no cluctch though. That must take serious skills.
