Getting fed up with this... kind of puts things in perspective when such an obviously premium brand does it too though eh...

Is this VWs influence, will all the brands under their umbrella be marketed this way now?

I'm sick and tired of Lamborghini devaluing the brand with all these special editions, it's ridiculous, you lose count of them after a while. And besides, every Lambo since the beginning of time has looked exactly the same - Lambo designers are so bloody lazy! Easiest job in the world!

I heard they're all derived from a Fiat 126 as well.

They started doing this before VAG got hold of them, didn't they? The "anniversary" edition of the Countach was essentially a run-out special edition, and I dare say there were others before it.

I recall Five Star (or some of them) had Lamborghini Countachs and one couldn't even drive.

Lambos are supercars and will always be special no matter whether a special edition or not. Porsches are more "premium utilitarian" (another can of worms was opened....) wink

Aston Martin do this as well with their Carbon, Black and Monkey editions.

That said, Lamborghini have done it forever. How many versions of the Diablo did they do??

OK, which model 'loses' so-far (i.e. the most 'specials')?

- Veyron
- Zonda
- Gallardo

So, hold on... you gave me major grief on the Porsche 911 Black Edition thread when I implied it was a run-out special and then you start this thread? confused

I honestly don't get your problem.

More supercars in the world is always a good thing?

What's your problem confused

Surly though all of the special edition Zondas were actually special (higher output, exotic materials etc)

I think the winner (loser?) of this contest has to be the Elise (both s1 and s2). It seemed every different colour was a special edition.

It's not another car though, it's just a different paintjob.

Anyway, on other matters, I hear Ferrari are doing a special edition 599, it's the same as a normal 599 but in blue. For only £5k more than a standard edition! Hurry, while stocks last.

It's all marketing bordocks and we all know it.
