I've seen A4s (B6 model) with the front grille altered to look like a B7 - although this also has RS6 style wheels that were an option on B7 A4s.

Looks a bit dodgy!

Could it not just have been a B6 A4 that had had a DIY facelift job to make it look like the 04-08 B7 model? This sort of thing does happen.

Comes up as an Audi A4 Tdi Sport

Think it was a little harsh to remove the advert...

AskMID only tells you what its insured as, not what the registration number corresponds to. Insurance companies do make errors sometimes when inputting data about the car!

Looks like it is a 2001 which has had a front end, been written off and then repaired using the wings/bumpers/bonnet etc. from a facelift model.

Not that uncommon.

Why has the advert been pulled? It's quite obvious what it is - it's a Cat C or D car thats had a front end shunt and been repaired using parts from the facelift A4 (Remember, the 01-04 and 04-08 are the same car really). It even says it needs a VIC Marker on the DVLA lookup which indicates it's a Cat C.

Not really sure what the problem is as long as the seller discloses when asked that it's a Cat C car.

I thought the PH Admins checked reports of dodgy adverts not just removed them just because somebody said so. I don't think it's against the law to advertise a Cat C car is it?

It would have been removed pending a chat with/ waiting for info from the owner. Not that unusual when we need to clarify matters. Once sorted it will go up again I'm sure.

It's a good way for us to be sure that everything is OK, and adds a nice level of safety for potential buyers too.
