Those 3 little words you hate to hear as the little one holds up a piece of interior trim.

Uhhm, so it just spontaneously broke, no help from you what so ever? mad

My worst one as a child was shutting the non-inertia reel seat belt in the door and making a crease in the door shut. My Father went ballistic!

So, what did you break on the family car as a nipper?

This brings back memories of the electric windows in Dads car, My brother insisted that I was going to get cold, so was putting them down from the front, I meanwhile was stopping him by pressing the button in the back.
I can still hear the noise now....and feel the cold....

When I was younger (about 6) one of my friends opened his door into the hedgerow next to the road (the type where it's 1 inch foliage then mud/stones) at about 50mph (NSL road)...cue my dad going mental at the sight of his wrecked door. Friends excuse? "My mummys car doesnt let you do that"!

I bit a chunk out of the drivers headrest when I was a kid. My dad went mental - but it was one of those type of materials that you just 'needed' to bite.

I also absent mindeldly posted a 2p peice through the air con vent. It rattled like fk everytime you turned the A/C on.

Shoved clothes pegs through dad's wheel spokes - I seem to recall they took some getting out.
Helpfully posted a load of coins into the windscreen demister slots in my mum's Triumph Acclaim. In that same car, my sister and I experimented with the cigarette lighter and made pretty patterns on the dashboard.
Used the rear wiper on our Volvo estate has a useful handle to climb onto the rear bumper.

One of the reasons why I have the sttiest MPV in the world. All the school run mums must be weeping when Jeremy throws up on the inside of their Cayenne.

Apparently i chewed chunks out of our Citroen AX's steering wheel when i was teething.

I switched my Grandad's Rover P5 to the reserve tank which promptly ran out about 15 miles into a journey and they were stuck for about an hour until they realised.

Left the lights on in mum's golf before a 6 hour tour of the shopping centre. Returned to a flat battery and much cursing

Nothing major really. The most recent was clipping a kerb on a country road at circa 65mph and watching the hub cap roll to the side of the road.... When asked where it went i said someone stole it! LOL. I just got that 'I know EXACTLY what happened son' look from my dad and was told to buy new ones

The moment that I most regret was probaby stuffing a Burger King burger down the back of the expensive leather seats in a friend's dad's brand new Merc E Class. I've never liked fast food, and the burger was disgusting, but I was too polite to tell him that I didn't want it biggrin Strange priorities you have as a kid! I can picture the burger now, squashing down between the leather, tomato sauce coming out of the top biggrin

I inserted the large majority of the contents of my sandpit down the fuel filler of my father's DB4

We get quite a few people coming in with their CD player broken..

"It won't let me put a CD in anymore."

"Here you go, heres the 6 pence we got out of the CD player, and heres your bill for doing it"

*THE MENTAL*

"WHY IS THAT NOT UNDER WARRANTY!!!"

The kids usually disappear pretty sharpish when we tell them they must have been put in there hehe

I used to enjoy playing with nails as a child. I left some on the drive. 'Nuff Said.

Put my bike and my friends bike in the back of my folks new (as in, they'd brought it home less than an hour earlier)Land Rover Discovery. I hadn't spotted the bar end poking out of the tailgate and slammed it shut. I wasn't my old man's favourite person in the world for the hour or two afterwards. It bent the very edge of the tailgate outwards and took a decent chunk of paint off.

Also bike related, when I was about 5 and learning to ride pushbikes, I dragged the handlebar of the bike down his brand new Escort RS Turbo when I was trying to ride down the side of the house to put it in the garage. Nice big scratches down the whole side of the car.

Not sure if this counts as it wasn't the car that got broken.

I managed to trap my friends finger in the back door of my Dad's new Austin Allegro. No central locking in those days, you just locked the door on the inside and shut it. All the adults had already made their way inside so he was there for a few minutes while I tried to help him, though eventually one of the grown-ups must have heard his high pitched scream and come to help.

I can't say I was popular for that, even though it was an accident.

Never done any lasting damage to my parents cars as a nipper. However, back when I was 4 years old in the 70s, I managed to change the radio station with my head. Me sat in the back (in the middle), no seatbelts of course, and dad did an emergency stop. I vaguely recall getting a b0llocking, rather than checking to see if I was alright...
