Someone I know on another forum returned home to find his pride and joy stolen.It was in South East London so if anyone knows or sees anything please contact him

Really sorry to hear this but why an A35? The resale market would be rather limited and stick out like a sore thumb.
Strip for bits? People would start to wonder about a chap selling a parts that look suspiciously like those in the picture.

Joyriding? Nope.

This. Compared to a ten year old car old ones are really easy to nick. If the guy's lucky an old lag has got tired walking home from the pub and decided he'd like to drive when he saw something easy to nick. It may turn up at a train station or similar in a day or so.
