Video: How To Make Drifting An RC Car Look Easy

Koreans get stuck in to some down-sized drifting

There's something about miniaturized model cars, trains and planes that gets otherwise sane, mature grown-ups all over-excited. Let's call it the Scalextric gene (though it could just as easily be called the Hornby gene).

And it's that particular strand of genetic material that we must blame for causing us to post this video of radio-controlled cars doing the slidey thing at the 2010 Korea RC Street Drift Challenge.

Now, we don't normally cover the 'drifting scene, yo' here on PH (though we are partial to a slide or two), but this video features some awesome scaled-down driving, and the course itself features some truly impressive attention to detail.

Not sure about that hip-hop soundtrack, though...

That's pretty damn cool. I used to have one of those small Xmods cars with drift tyres on. Was never quite this good though....

That's so cool! I wonder if the surface is low grip stuff or the little tyres made out of something slippy?

Hard plastic tyres smile Great track, some serious effort put into that.

They're usually a slippy plastic tyre. But it's probably a low grip surface as well for them to slide that well.

LOVE IT!

OK so thats my son's new 'sport' when he grows up a bit! I'll convert the top end of my garden to an urban drift scene.

Tamiya MX5 as the novice vehicle of choice me thinks.

Good find PH!

That is one of the geekiest things I've ever seen. I love it.

I tried doing... sorry, failed to do that on snow with my RC car. Crazy difficult.
