I'm thinking of going to my first motorshow (ever) so bear with me whilst i ask some stupid questions.

will all the cars be available to view from the start or is it a case of certain cars will be on show on certain days?

I'm just wondering if its worth hanging about till the final day or if an overnight mid-week thing is enough. I'm guessing £77 return flights, a night at a cheap b&b and it'll all be less than £150 plus spending money.

will it be worth going to this or waiting for the Frankfurt one?

Anyone else from PH going?

A few guys in the F,M,L&B forum quite often go, might be worth asking in there.

Make sure you take plenty of pics for us!

I always go.

First thing; Geneva is the easiest motorshow to go to, anywhere; the airport and exhibition centre are connected so you literally land and then do the show and fly back. If you got a morning flight out and a night time flight back you'll have plenty of time to do the whole thing.

Assuming you aren't doing press days, then all is there to be seen every day.

Weekends are by far the busiest and it gets very warm.

Geneva is also the biggest show; and with the LP700, FF and Huayra and many more this one is not to be missed; you'll catch the motorshow bug though and want to go to Frankfurt too!

P.S. Anyone who's interested, on the first press day I'll be posting pics to Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/shmee150 , and videos to YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/shmee150 so you know one of the first places you'll see all the new stuff!

I'm struggling to find a friend frown

might just do it alone - get to spend more time photographing the models cars

a nice mid-week day - less busy i guess more time/space to move around...

If you are going on press day, the search for hotel accomodation will be pretty fraught unless you booked well in advance or have deep pockets.

My hotel room at the Etap cost 167 CHF:- a night on press days!! Public days? Less money.

A day trip is very achievable since the last flight departs around 2100hrs.

I'll be there Monday 28th - 2nd March.

You will definitely catch the bug as I've went on to Frankfurt.

Geneva is the premier motorshow in Europe, all the big manufacturers have a much larger budget to blow at this show, and it shows

though i heard mullah express is a HUGE daily in the middle east somewhere...

I'm probably going to do the day thing. i know it wont be long enough but its better than nothing.

all by myself so it'll be a lil adventure!

As Shmee said above & agree it gets hot so don't take a coat.

I do midweek, earliest Easyjet flight out of Gatwick & about 17:00 back. Gives me plenty of time to mooch around.

I buy my ticket from here & print it out.

It depends how up close to the cars you are going to be getting; if you end up on the stages with the bright lights on you all day it's quite seriously warm, as in you don't want to be wearing more than a shirt on your top-half.

I wouldn't worry about needing shorts though, it's not that bad, just my mistake in previous years is having a jacket that I didn't want to stuff into a bag; so take something for the travelling that can go into a bag when you're in Palexpo.

Let me know if you do go on the 5th, we can meet up for a stein.
