garage clear out, scrap value?

ive got a couple of old alloy wheels that were victims of the potholes caused by the bad weather. they are the 15" ford fiesta zetec s wheels. they can't be re-used and just clogging up my garage. i hear the value of aluminium scrap is fairly high at the moment. if i scrap them in is it likely to be worth more than the petrol to do the 10 or so miles drive to the scrappys?

£5 per wheel round here (wiltshire).

90p a kilo for 'dirty' alloys, (tyre valve, tyres & wheel weights still attached) or £1.10 a kilo for 'clean', all of the above removed. Thats in Bridgend, South Wales. Its worth ringing around a few localplaces as the prices will vary.

I got £5 for a wheel, no tyre. If alu is 90p/KG I could have got £8 a wheel, ah well.
