Road Tax - Paying by Cheque

My road tax renewal reminder has just plopped through the letterbox.

Now, having slight masochistic tendencies, I always go and get tax discs for my vehicles from the Post Office (oh, how I love to queue) and pay by cheque.

But, nowhere on the reminder form does it tell you to whom to make the cheque payable. So, is this just typical DVLA / Government dept. incompetence or, is it a surreptitious attempt to deter us from paying by cheque?


(Checking the Post Office website reveals that the cheque should be made out to Post Office Limited)

Pay by cheque, collect and display disc. Cancel cheque. Worked a treat for me before ANPR cameras.
