Fit lights behind the grill to make them look like police cars? Random question I know and maybe someone can explain but yesterday I parked up opposite a 535d which I guessed was a police car because I could see what I thought were 2 rectangular lights behind the grill.

5 minutes later a chap emerged from Ikea and drove off with family too. Thought nothing off it until driving home and a silver 5 series goes the other way with a young lady driving and again what appears to be lights visible.

Ex-police cars? Grill brackets? Dodgy eyes?

Dodgy eyes hehe

If it was ex police the lights would have been removed, maybe he was just having a laugh?

Did you get the reg?

CID are redecorating.

The second one was going back after they opened up their Bumfröttig desk only to find the screws were missing.

Not true in the slightest! rolleyes

To the OP. There's something fitted in that position behind the grille. I've seen it too. But I would guess it's not flashing lights. biggrin

Active cruise on Audis and Mercs is normally observed as a single, slice of perspex, e.g. below the snout of an A8 6.0 W12.

It would not surprise me if there's a market catering accordingly for this type of psychological indequate.

Or military police. I noticed a car parked once with the lights in the car grill, took a picture of it as was curious. The fella who owned it seen me taking the pic and asked of I could delete the picture as he was meant to be somewhere else.
Lol I obliged. Useless story for you all.
