cheap runabout, reliable, cheap to run and insure.

Musts:
4 or 5 doors
Petrol
Manual
Relatively economical but not gutless
max budget £2k.
no more than 60k on the clock
full service history
not french

My finds/suggestions so far; Leon, Panda, Polo...

Thoughts?

Does seem to be a lack of good examples - guess that numpty scrappage scheme has put a lot of them in a field somewhere!

I'd be buying on condition and history at that price. Don't just look for mileage.

+1 I'd be more tempted to search on price and distance and see what turns up. Lots of good motors about for little money IMO.

ta. I thought this too, but on looking today there seems to be a bit of a hole in the 1-2k. lots at 2.5-3k seemingly.

If looks arn't important then something like this could work. Slightly over the miles you were wanting but I spent less than a minute looking.

Good suggestion. Think he wants something a little smaller (driving round london a lot).
