Advice required Van needed

Probably not the best topic but thought you may be able to help.

Looking for a van budget 4k. Van will be used as a race van with living accommodation. Van will transport one kart so thinking mwb medium top. Furthest race is 8 1/2 hours away so looking for something that will comfortably travel that distance and not be to tiring to drive.

Vans I have looked at currently are the transit 90 T350 2.4 (05 plate) and the Citroen Relay.

However I haven't driven one of the later transit's currently have the older model mk5/6 which is very loud and very slow and returns 24mpg so is the newer transit better?
