I am not quite sure of the point of a four door thunder-GT, but whatever floats your boat, I suppose. Having said that, when you look at the Aston Rapide, and to a lesser extent at the Maserati Quattroporte, you have to wonder what Porsche were thinking when they designed the Panamera. It appears to be ugly from every angle, and those that I have seen appear to have a higher than average share of naff number plates, denoting, it seems, the dunderheadness of their purchasers. I gather from the news page that a stretchy version may be on the books. Oh, great.

Have you not seen a Nissan Juke?

An example of where ugliness of a car does not matter, though.

The Panzermera is not nearly so bad in the flesh. It's certainly a big fker, that's for sure and could have been a lot better if Porsche got over their obsession with trying to make their whole range look like the 911. The interior's very good though.

Ugly, yes, but functional. It looks that way for a reason.

I rather like 'em, sorry !
I like them too - I'd have one, but I think my OH would leave me.

This, however, is the "winner"

Also the Rapide can't be held up as a paragon of beauty... long, thing and MUCH more a stretched photo copy of a DB9 than the Panamera is a stretched 997...
Most cars have detractors... but we can clearly see (above) that other manufacturers have less respect for proportion and detail than Porsche.... despite them being lazy feckers.

Oh and the Multipla - thumb up for daring and function... very brave.

Hunchbacked horror. Interior is nice, like Miss Congeniality. Just like the Cayenne, (ugly, and I own one), the thing is sellingt like hot cakes. Partly this is because the S class is aging, I suspect.

But why couldn't they at least make the bonnet a resalable shape, that wouldn't reduce space.

The Panamera really does look like a dog taking a crap, and its so ridiculous big.

The Rapide is very beautiful although it looks like its been in the photocopier at 125%. The Quattroporte on the other hand does it more for me than the Rapide, a really classy 4-door with its own style, though still keeping with the Maserati tradition.

I quite like willfully ugly cars like the Juke, Multipla etc... it's cars like the Panamera that THINK they are hot, but actually look like a dog's dinner that are the most offensive.

Hey ho, no one ever went bust by under estimating the taste of the public. Talking of Cayennes (which we weren't) I once had the inestimable satisfaction of towing one out of a field using my dog-rough 1981 Series 3 Landy. Simple joys.

Yeah but like all the biggest brands, they can almost put their name to any old ste and it'd sell well...
