McLaren MP4-12C vs McLaren F1 - If you had the choice...?
Discussion
Which would you choose?
We've heard all about the new McLaren, in isolation and versus the 458 and on a face of things, it sounds like a stunning achievement. However, how would it compare to the 'gold standard'?
New technological masterpiece powered by a twin turbo 3.8 litre V8

Or 'old skool' n/a V12 with no electronic traction aids

Perhaps given the cost (new and current) of each, the comparison is very much hypothetical (F1 dwarfing the 12C) and one may consider this an unfair comparison. However, one car epitomises the new digital age of the supercar, whereas the other is very much analogue (no t/c, no ABS etc).
Which would be quicker? Which would be more rewarding to drive? Which would stir the soul? Which would you choose?
(Incidentally, I would have done this as a poll but I couldn't find the option to do so when starting the thread - apologies)

Interesting question!
Even though the F1 is (and will remain) of greater historical significance, I think if given the choice I would get more enjoyment from the newer MP4-12C given that its capabilities seem to be more accessible. Furthermore, even though the F1 is lauded for being a great 'analogue' supercar, most of the roadtests I have read appear to suggest that once you get past the car's aura and performance it is actually not as good a drivers car as you may imagine. With my imaginary multi-millions in the bank, the MP4-12C gets my vote

Here's another one for the F1. I remember when I firt saw that the driver sat in the middle, I always thought that was such a cool design. Remember when mr bean crashed his in real life? What's his real name again, rowen atlkins or the likes?
Here's a question for you;
Bugatti EB110 or Jaguar XJ220? now that is a tough call! I had a dream last night that I was driving next to a silver XJ220. That would be a tough call for me. I absolutely love both of them. oddly, I've never seen either in the flesh. They never $ade it to the NY auto show which is the only place I reckon I would have ever got a chance to see them in the flesh. I've actually seen the same F40 3 times when I was younger driving on the same side of the road as me. I tried so hard to keep up in my toyota camry at the time. The F40 was the first model car I ever put together.
How abut this one. Which would you rather have;
Ferrari F40 - Bugatti EB110 - Jaguar XJ220. That would be I think the toughest choice ever to make.
Has anyone happen to catch that article either december or january issue of I think (but am not too sure) automobile magazine. They had a Bugatti history article a few pages long where they compared the EB110 to the Veryon and said that the EB110 surprisingly wasn't almost identical to lap times of the Veryon at the Ring I think it was.

For the OP question it has to be the F1, the 12C will be a great car but the F1 is in a different league, my all time favourite car.

This is more tricky, I'm torn between the F40 and EB110 but I think I'd go for the Bugatti.Ferrari F40 - Bugatti EB110 - Jaguar XJ220
