I'd like to as for your opinions regarding the springs of my old 1800 S ('67).
I recently bought some Bilstein dampers for the old lady and some standard springs. Now I'm not sure whether to fit them or not.
In 44 years time, the car lowered itself by some mm (think something in the region of 20mm is a good guess). The new springs would raise the car by that amount. What do you think is the better setup?
44 year old springs with a lower CoG, or shiny new ones that raise the car by a good inch?

I'd imagine that springs lower with age because their lose some of their elasticity, in which case I'd say the new ones will give significantly better handling and ride.

You missed another option.

New lowered springs.

Keeps the good looks of the lowered car and will be cheaper than new standard springs.
