I don't think they could have got it more wrong if they tried. Jaguar are moving forward with their design language - this looks like an old XJ or X-Type from the side and rear 3/4.

Autocar seem to think that Jag may be considering this for their sub-XF model - I really hope that isn't the case. They need a modern looking car to take on the 3er and C-Class, the X-type was proof that retro looks don't work in that sector.

It looks like some crap US muscle car. I'm not a fan at all. Much like the dire Bertone Astra coupe, what is the point of this?

I think that would look better without that Jaguar on the front- just a badge would suffice

I think that is stunning. Minus the bonnet leaper of course.

Looks very american doesn't it.

Should probably have gone more for a 3 door XF look than a restyled XJ/X-type. Not very forward looking. Certainly the XF front end is one of the best looking ones around at the minute. As long as they don't just shrink and disproportion it like they did XJ to X-Type *shudder*

It's a lovely thing (minus the leaper) but it's probably 5 years behind Jaguar's design philosophy. I think it works well as a concept but wouldn't fare well against the more forward looking German opposition.

Same here. Spot on.

Maybe lose the wildlife from the front, but it has some lovely styling cues.

Front lights especially. yes

Looks more like a four-door Merc SLS to me.

Don't know where this 'Looks very American' comes from. confused

I quite like it.

Well it's not small, that looks about the same size as an X350 - which incidentally it appears to be basically a copy of with some different lights, a roof chop and suicide rear doors.

Is this really a genuine Bertone concept? Looks very amateurish to me.

It does look American, almost to the point the Jag leaper has to be put on so it is a Jag, without it you could stick another badge on.

I think the XF design was compromised by Ford's ownership of Aston and I would guess it would have looked more like this without such constraint. I would hardly call the XF face attractive.

Looks better than the current XJ which is awful in the flesh

To me the proportions make it look like an enormous car (bigger than the XJ) so if it was indeed a compact, it would be extremely cramped inside.

I do quite like it, but agree it is more of a modern take on the classic Jag than a design that sits with the current Jag model range and design style.

I say american because the side profile is very much like a latest crop of american retro muscle cars - slabish sides, long bonnet and a lowish roof.

I need one of those in my life, along with a gun safe in the boot and a couple of heavies to complete "the look"

Why a gun safe though? Chances are if you are going for "the look" your shootah is going to be a sawnoff double barrel hammerlock, in which case you just need a SGC so you can just sling the shootah in ya motah without a gun cabinet wink

as a SGC holder, it really isn't advisable you "sling your firearm in the car, keep it out of sight in the boot

I'd rather not get a straight 7 stretch for firearms offenses so would prefer to carry the tools of the trade in a legal manner unless they are imminently needed for a bank job or other blag, perhaps a rebuilt center console to hold said sawnoffs would be a better option scratchchinbiggrin

Joking aside I actually really like that Jag.
