Now, there have been many campaigns, fuel protests, blockades but THIS campaign is different and gathering momentum. It is our best chance to take a stand and show government we will not tolerate FURTHER increases!

The campaign is being led by Peter Carroll, the man behind the successful Ghurka Campaign. Read more here >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/background.html

Quentin Wilson, the famous motoring journalist is also part of the campaign. See his blog here >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/quentins_blog.php

So, far estimated signatures have reached about 100,000 but the more we have, the more successful the campaign will be and we are ALL affected by the stupidly high fuel prices at the moment.

What can you do? Well, the FairFuelUK website has lots of information and makes it really easy to do something and you decide how far you want to go.

Find out where every penny of your hard earned cash goes on every litre of fuel you buy >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/documents/fueltax.html

Email your MP (a list of email addresses and a template email) here >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/is_your_mp_supporting.ht...

Sign the online petition (takes 10 secs) >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/documents/petition.html

Email a friend (or forward this email) >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/documen/tellafriend.html

Download a petition form (or carry out you own campaign) >>> http://www.fairfueluk.com/documents/request.html

PLEASE take 10/15mins from one day of your life to make a difference. We all benefit but it needs all of us to do something, however small.

Signed the petition, not sure what good it will do, but fingers crossed.

I'd like to see duty dropped to the same level as similar countries in the EU, and only go up at the same rate as inflation.

So we remove the tax on fuel. Where do you propose the deficit is made up from, income tax?

The gov need to place this one well. They need the tax from fuel to reduce the deficit but if it reduces the number of people who are going out an spending it will create a much bigger problem.

Maybe the deficit should be made up by the people who created it in the first place? Now theres a novel idea eh!

But the more people spend on fuel, the less they spend elsewhere, so it's swings and roundabouts.

What the high fuel price is doing is clobbering the UK haulage industry, which has a knock-on effect on both goods and jobs. Goods are more expensive if it costs more to move them around, and if a Dutch haulier can fill his rig up in Rotterdam for less than one based in Hull, he'll charge companies less for his services and so our money goes abroad. One more person to pay dole money to, fewer tax pennies going into the UK system.

High fuel prices hurt the economy.

Any deficit could be made up by reducing the amount of benefits given out to people who make no effort to get off them.

Well said. I've got a few mates who long distance and they try not to fill up in the UK if they can help it. Europe just had a 5% reduction in fuel. Wheres our reduction? Oh no, wait, ours is going up AGAIN!!!

They could cut their cloth accordingly. We all have a finite amount of money and if we spend more on fuel, we have to spend less elsewhere. Therefore, if The Treasury receives less fuel tax, they could spend less elsewhere.

Going after tax evaders would be a nice start.

Also, does the petition say anything about removing duty, or just reducing it inline with our EU neighbors?

This is a smaller problem, but yeah, a good idea too.

The petition is to halt the ADDITIONAL price increases due in April and for the government to introduce a fuel price stabiliser.

Take all the Labour MPs who served during 1997-2010 and sell them as slaves, confiscate all their property and sell it too.

They can at least pay back for some of the damage they caused.

How about the government before that who brought in the fuel price escalator?

Exactly. yes The Tories.

I believe Road Tax was meant to be binned as the escaltor went into effect. Broken promise, and never going to happen now.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, fuel duty is about the only tax certain elements of our scrounging populus actually pay, so thats no bad thing. Bin it, and who will be asked to make up the shortfall?

Honest, law abiding non tax dodging people like me. Stuff that.

I wish fuel were cheaper, and there is sooooo much about the way GDP is spent in this country I DON'T agree with, but this is a whole bigger issue that dropping the fuel duty.

I would go further by saying, increase duty tax by at least 30p/l

But this asn't about REDUCING, it's about keeping at a consistent level and having a fuel price stabiliser in place so businesses and the general public can have something to work with.

Fuel increases don't just affect fuel, they affect everything we buy, from a pint of milk to a new car and everything in between.

The overall taxtation level was much lower during the previous conservative government. The biggest problem this country has is paying for labours welfare bills. Thats where most of the dough goes.
