Lamborghini Reveals Rolling Chassis For New V12

Murcielago replacement's under-bits revealed to the world

Lamborghini seems intent on revealing its new Aventador LP700-4 from the inside outwards.

First, the carbon fibre monocoque for the Murcielago replacement filtered out of Sant'Agata's electronic portals a few days ago, while today Lamborghini has revealed the rolling chassis for the new car.

We must admit it's a novel way of doing 'teaser' photos, and it does emphasise the point that there will be some seriously swanky technology beneath the skin of the new car, but we really are quite keen to see the finished product.

Still, there will be only a few days worth of waiting now, as the new V12 supercar will finally be unveiled with all its clothes on at the Geneva show next week.

^^ In what respect? You're ether a lot more mechanically minded that me or I than you. I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to which one!

Is that the exhaust poking out the back on the 3rd picture?, I'm guessing its going to have the wide open one like the Murci?.

Glad to see that they have kept the Countach transmission layout, ie ahead of the engine.

Unless he is referring to the two air intakes behind the tub and what appears to be a veyron-like spoiler?

But that isn't anything to do with the tub layout

Is it just me or is that a MASSIVE front overhang? Is that just a big crumple-zone or does it serve another purpose?

The carbon tub is complete unlike the McLaren which is just the bottom half, mind you that is cheaper.

There is some good stuff going on with the new Lambo, those opposed shocks, the carbon tub, the uprated engine. Looks like the Pagoni has all the press but this could easily match it.

Wonder how fast it hits 150mph in? Less than 11s?

ie A central structural carbon tub acting as chassis and body with front and rear sections bolted straight on, but maybe other modern supercars use that principal as well??
