Anyone know of any Mini specialists in Surrey/Berks/Bucks?
Discussion
Friend has an 07 plate Cooper S, just over 25k on the clock.
She says its now miss-firing, and is at Mini dealer.
They have put it through an hour "diagnostics" and found nothing. (I assume plugging it into a computer, and thats all?) Charging her £90 for the pleasure.
They now want to try, and test other parts, and keep charging her until problem is resolved.
Does anyone know or heard of any highly rated Mechanics/Garages, in the above areas, where we can take it to, before she gives Mini the go ahead to keep loooking?
Regards,
Matt

Hi
I have a 07 R56 Cooper S too and had the same apparent misfire problem, after many visits etc etc it was finally put down to the high pressure fuel pump, so get them to check that. My symptoms were miss fire on start and a real juddering sensation when the turbo came on boost.
This never came up on their diagnosis and was only found after numerous coil packs / plugs and various other apparent reasons it was misfiring were investigated...
The work was carried out by Scothall Watford who i must say even though they took their time to fully sort the problem, were very keen to help and recognised the problem rather than fobbing me off.
And after all of this BMW gave me a years warranty gratis as it had taken approx 4 months to sort and as my warranty was two days away from running out when the car finally was given the seal of approval, i said to them i felt it was only fair to give me peace of mind that it was sorted once and for all. Customer service agreed.
Good luck!
