Thought might like to see my next door neighbours new shed

1983 230CE in metallic blue, 116k miles and totally original, £13k new according to garage receipt including sunroof, armrest and alloys as extras

Picked up for shed money

Had a nosey round it last night and apart from stone chips, 1 patch of rust on the rear quarter and a tear in the drivers seat it is in great nick. £300 worth of body work and it would be mint!

You would have to wear a long leather coat, cloves and a hat when driving that.

I quote like this - saw the film Primal Fear a few days ago and said to myself "that's a cool car Richard Gere is driving" turns out it's a 280CE (W123 series).

I don't know where he found it but for a bag and a quarter of sand it seems an absolute steal! It has got the cloth interior and is a manual. Cracking wafting barge I would have bought it myself and I am not the biggest fan of Mercs

Paul - when you go to Leyburn you will pass it give us a shout for a viewing!

Good shout thanks.

IMO this car should be an auto, but can't complain for the outlay

You do. But you would turn £300 of bodywork into £3,000 worth of respray etc etc.

Not true. I would never spend £1000 on the suspension of my old Lexus.......

Oh.

Been look around today and I can't find one that is under £3k either, he wouldn't tell me where he got it from but going to ask tonight if there is a field full of them somewhere!

Can imagine crusing round the Dales in the summer all windows down, roof open and wallowing along. It would make a difference to having my fillings rattled in the S the noise is not quite the same though wink

£300 should easily cover it even with your ability to spend Paul!
