When looking for new insurance quotes do you declare any replacement windscreens or stone chips? I've just changed my daughter's insurance company and have just received proof of no claims off her old company. On it they have listed her claims, one as a fault claim in 2007 and another as saying allowable at a cost of £99.88 last year, this was for a stone chip repair.
It's got me wondering whether I should have declared it although it is a change from Elephant to Admiral so they did do a check when I phoned Admiral about the proof of bonus.

I thought they were only concerened with any accident claims that would affected your NCD, whether protected or not. You have a seperate section for windscreen cover which allows you to pay a seperate excess, for a replacement if required, and have it not infringe on your main insurance schedule.

Its probably best to declare it but it shouldn't have an effect on the price.

Why did she put a stone chip repair through insurance?

Because it would be free....
And most insurers offer free windscreen repairs with the policy at no cost so it would be stupid to pay for the repair....

For some reason I read it as paintwork rather than windscreen smile
