Car wrapping ?

Thinking of wrapping the lower half of a car rather than spend the time prepring/painting it. Meter longer sheets can be bought of the stuff and as I will be doing the bottom of a door and the sills hopefully it won't be too bad.
Thing I can't work out is how do they do it around corners like the bupers ? Is it a king of heat shrink stuff ? How does it go around corners and uneven surfaces without leaving loads of wrinkles ?
