Whether you like the car, and Chris style or not, This is one of the best performance car reviews I have seen.

That was very good. I like when a reviewer can almost put you in the car. By showing how some of the controls work for chassis and power settings, you feel you could just hop in and be in familiar surroundings.

This is probably why I like dashboard photos in magazine reviews.

I liked The review but the one thing that seems a miss is the engine noise..Doesn't seem to sound as visceral as a Ferrari..

Not my sort of review at all. Like a modern day Goffey. There was no sense of fun in it at all.

Harris is, for me, a superb mototing enthusiast's journalist. His ability to convey the more geeky and technical aspects of a car are second to none and this review is another great example of that. Jethro Bovingdon had a similar ability, but Harris seems more coherent.

As for the car. It really does sound amazing. I even like the way it sounds!

This is what we need more of, a proper car review for car geeks. I have always like Chris Harris, not only is he an excellent writer and great in front of a camera to boot, he is a genuinely good driver too.

Those buttons look a bit flimsy and cheap.

Dp: and the paddles click/sound worse than my DFP.

Out of interest, what and where is the servicing done for the MP4?

I know for the F1 there were amazing bills for routine servicing and for the SLR the bills atlernated between £6k & £12k every 6k miles.

There is the argument that if you can afford it then the servicing costs shouldn't bother you, I see that, but i'm curious.

In every aspect it "looks" to beat the 458 (a draw on the looks!)

Impressive car but it's just too resolved and annimated to be a real supercar, and look at the skinny rear tyres. If I were doing the real supercar thing it would be the old Ford GT.

The rear's are 305/30 on 20 inch wheels. rolleyes

Forget a Ford GT, a top fuel dragster might be more up your street.

The tyres still look out of proportion though, and the GT is far more of an event and at least you could enjoy the sweet steering and manual gearbox at more reasonable speeds on the road.

good video but i found the voiceovers really creepy. the content was excellent though smile

edited to say that i realised the tone of voice says "I'm going to drive you to some dark woods and..." and the words say "the traction control..."

I quite enjoyed that he seemed to describe what he was feeling well and the car was awesome. The sort of reviewing that is missing from TG in my opinion.

Llandow's a fun little circuit, not where I was expecting to see the 12C being reviewed though..! I imagine they were on their way up to the Welsh Playground?

excellent video from Harris. I watched a few others he's done for evo.tv last night and he's consistently good.

He's definitely a handy driver. I got a lift with him once from Chobham to Autocar's offices in a Holden HSV-GT and he had it nicely sideways quite a few times but always in a very controlled fashion.

As for the McLaren - definitely top of my lottery list now. Clinical schminical. I think its got more class and depth to it than the histrionic Ferrari...
