Dual Controls

Hi
Does anybody know if its legal to drive a car with dual controls without a driving instructor in the car? Im insured to drive the car on my own!

The dual controls are just clutch and brake!

no idea

but a mate had an old driving school car years back

we worked ona site together

it still had dual control, clutch and brake

I was in passenger side with steels on

legs out straight, i managed to somehow jam the pedals so they did not work

oh how we laughed when he said no brakes

good old handbrake was pressed in to service

My sister was given a Nissan Micra back in about 1989 that had dual controls fitted, so unless the law has changed, I cant see it being illegal

Why on would it not be, providing of course you have a full license and are insured ...

Just stubbled across this rather late. OP, if you are still driving around with duals I would recommend having them removed. When I passed on my last car to my sister the insurance company were quite adamant that they be removed first.
