Coupe suggestions.
Discussion
Afternoon guys,
I currently own a 147GTA, but keep finding myself browsing the classifieds looking for a change.
I fancy a coupe, but only have a budget of around 10k and cant seem to find anything other than 3series' or alfa GT that appeals. Surely there is more choice out there that offers a bit of class coupled with sporting intentions?
MPG isnt really an issue, aslong as its no worse than my current steed.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Stephen.

May be hard to find anything under £10k that lives up to the GTA.
But try these:
More fun than the Alfa GT

Super chargedDC5

Or just a nice normal and handsome blue one

Really like the colour on this, ideal for wafting:

Subtle V8 goodness

Not my choice but thought I'd stick it in before 300bhp does

Volvo C70 T5? Peugeot 406C V6? Mercedes CLK?
Wow, i wouldn't have any of those 3!I think you should be looking at custom built coupes - not saloon based as above and mentioned in your OP.
Thinking 350Z, RX-8, even look at a Crossfire?!
There's TWR-honed BTCC engineering underpinning the Mk1 C70 and with the T5 engine it goes like stink too.

Yes, that's a good choice the GT, but mine would be the 350Z - 3.5 V6 RWD Manual, meaty car!
10k should get you a very well sorted 850i. Just repeat after me... I need a five litre v12 in my life, I need a five litre v12 in my life, I need a...
ETA - The alfa gt is based on a 156 sportwagon chassis, not a 147. It does have quite a lot of the 147 interior in it though. Oh and they look bloody gorgeous imho!

Porsche 968 CS?
What was it about the 147 that appealed, specifically? The Porsche, for example, is the better handling car by common consensus, but it'll sound like a Hoover after a V6 Alfa. Similarly, the 350Z is a fun car to drive with decent performance and an interesting engine, but it's got about as much luggage space as a push bike.

I Should also add that im only 25, therefore jag's have to be written out of the equation.
I do also agree with alot of the comments above, i am really finding it hard to find something as appealing as the GTA for my limited budget/

For me it was a combination of things. The exclusivity, the looks, the sound, the interior and that engine. But its been nearly 2years now and im fancying a change, i just cant seem to find anything i really want within my budget. What was it about the 147 that appealed, specifically? I see where you're coming from.Really found myself stuck.
Nothing pops up in my head which beats the GTA in the above departments for £10k.

One of these:

(or an old 6 series, obviously, but then I'm biased. And wouldn't recommend one as a daily driver...)
