I have a Skoda Cctavia vRS 56 plate (2.0 PD) and for the last couple of weeks the DPF sensor has been playing silly buggers with me. Light came on briefly and went off one day, then came on a bit longer a few days later. I took it to a garage who said there was a slight pressure difference, reset it and suggested I take it for a good long drive to try and clear it all out (DPF).

Anyway, that seemed to work until a couple of days ago when the sensor came back on. I booked it in to a garage for later on today to get it looked at but took the chance of driving it when I had to.

Last night the car went into Limp Home Mode, the DPF sensor light was on, the DPF light was on and the glow plug light was flashing. No power at all from the engine, and restarting the car and d/c the battery brought it all back.

I called the RAC out who ummed & arred and all round fannied about and agreed the DPOF sensor was knackered and he'd try and get a new one for today. The guy did not exactly exude confidence though & generally seemed pretty useless so i'd like a pistonheads second opinion.

Has anyone ever had any of these symptoms before, is it as simple as the sensor being shot or could the problem be a bit deeper?

Cheers guys smile

Stick this in the VW, Audi section - it'll get more attention there.
