In the pics, have a close look.

Also isn't that illegal in the UK?

The only oddity I can spot is the square reg plate on the front.

(k)m/h

I wouldn't have thought that illegal though.

That's what I thought (but it could be?). I've got a rough idea of conversions but I wouldn't be very comfortable driving it around.

Pretty poor form from the dealer not to point that out IMO.

Do cars registered in the UK not have to have MPH displayed?

It does have MPH displayed, the k in KMH has been covered over as it has been converted to MPH.

Same as in my import MR2.

The only criticism of the advert is that the dealer does not make it clear that the car is an import.

Also - what's the mileage? Is that in kms so far and now converted to miles?

They adjust the clock speed, either by using a 1:0.62 gearbox or by electronic means so no need to change the dial.

You don't need a MPH speedo. My '81 Mexican import Beetle only reads in KM/H and it's passed many MOTs.

All I know is, the interior layout of the later MX-5s is nowhere near as nice as the older ones!
