this listing has a 'historic' car which
has a different chassis
has a different engine
has a different layout.............
none of the car is 'historic' apart from the chassis plate
it really is a sort of kit car , and be on a Q plate
should i inform the dvla / insurance etc ?

no different to hot rods classed as a Ford model A etc.
-with a new GRP body
-custom box/tube section chassis
-big new V8 in the front
-new box
-new suspension that can handle the power
would you inform the DVLA of that aswell?
Sure, calling it a Bond is a little bit too much, but if has been built within the law and the DVLA/VOSA have been notified about every change during its life then it's legal. No proof to show otherwise...

I have a hammer in my tool box, had it for nearly forty years now. Its original, never let me down either, and I've only ever had to change the handle twice, and the head once.
I doubt your hammer is as unique as that vehicle.
The point missed....
The interpretation of what it is registered as, and licensed as, allow it to exist. Without such 'loopholes' our very British garden shed hobby building would have been killed off long before I suspect the new breed of petrol heads with their suspicious outlooks were even born.
It's not a fraud young 'uns. It's a loophole to fun, excitement, and utter petrol head freedom. Once upon a time such things tomfoolery of the automotive kind were common place. There are still some who beat the tin, oil under the fingernails, burn the midnight oil, but sadly they are few and far between. Seems the thing these days is building computers and fitting ICE into a s

Rant over. As you were

I'd own that in a heart beat. Fantastic thing!

Get a grip man, the seller is being very open about the car and his lack of knowledge on it. Why on earth do you want to stick your oar in and cause trouble? Plenty of actual fraudsters etc need tackling first.this listing has a 'historic' car which

Indeed. The seller is being very open and clearly says that the car is not an original Bond but that the V5 lists it as having been one originally. robemcdonald said:
How many parts do you have to change before it ceases to be the original? It's called "the ship of Theseus" Paradox aka triggers broom.
I suspect that as long as it remained as 1 car during its transformation, ie it was a number of steps, then it will be ok.I have a mate with a 7 clone thats being modified for track. In its life its had has 3 different drive trains, now its having extensive suspension and chassis work being done, next will be body mods. It will only just be recognisable as a 7, but still has most of the original chassis so its really the same car.
The only issue I can see with this one though, is that it has transformed in layout, which can't have happened as a number of stages. I suspect its just a straight chassis plate swap. That said as long as the seller is being totally honest, and the car is safe, then I don't see an issue.
It shouldn't even be discussed. It's a continuing grass roots effort with a 'loophole' used for registration purpose. Why don't we just alert the DVLA to this topic. With a bit of luck the corridors of power will slap yet another regulation on us all preventing us from so much as modifying never mind ground up building anything that moves!

Looks like a cheap knock-off of a Grinall Scorpion to me.
I don't think it's actually any cheaper than the Scorpion. The main difference is that the Skunk is front engined. Personally, I think the Skunk is much better proportioned, too. The Scorpion always looked too tall and tail-heavy to me. Edited by kambites on Monday 7th March 12:19
