£35k could get you anything from a Ferrari to a Lamborghini with a Porsche inbetween, yes the running costs will be higher, but that Golf will be worth £10k in a few years time...

All he has done is offered a VAT qualifying car at list price.
Not all new cars are VAT qualifying.
The only benefit being your accountant can use it offset against profit and reduce a companies tax burden

Is there a massive waiting list or soemthing? Seems deeply improbable, but you never know...

I still don't quite know why a private buyer would ever buy a new car. God knows why they'd buy one that's not technically new for more than the forecourt price. Maybe the company is just going on the worryingly effective 'make expensive and people will think it's special' priniciple?

From going around the show rooms looking at new cars that doesn't really shock me anymore! When you factor in those optional extra's it's quite scary!

You can spec an Audi A1 up to the £25k region if you went all out... which by the looks of things, that Golf has everything.

Crazy imo... but hey, some poor guy out there probably has a Mrs who loves Golf's and wants every optional extra and he has the money for it so "she has to have it"...
