I've always fancied buying another one of the first car I ever had. Unfortunately my first car was a 1982 Datsun Cherry and not many survived. Which is probably not a bad thing!

If you saw a mint condition car that was pretty much identical to the first car you had, would you buy it for the nostalgia? or would you avoid it, knowing that your memories of it have been dulled by time and you only remember all the good things about it, and buying one would bring back memories of all its faults...

I'd actually have another Nova, as the Max Power ones have all but died making it interesting again. It wouldn't be a 1 litre though, an original GTE would be lovely. They'll be attracted a hefty premium in the very near future though

I had a 1988 nova and I loved it. I've often thought about getting another but in gsi spec but even the best in the world won't be as good as mine was. I think it's mostly down to it being my 1st car rather than it being any good.

I'd love to buy another Talbot Sunbeam, would be a twin cam Lotus in original condition rather than the multi coloured red (in places) 1.3 I started with.

My first car, not a chance. It was a Mk2 Polo and I hated it just as much the day I bought it as I did when I sold it 2 months later.

My second car I still search the classifieds for another. A Mk 3 Fiesta XRV. If anyone knows of one give me a shout would you.

I've got a mate who's Dad bought back the car he owned when he met and started seeing my mates Mum. He had it restored and, IIRC, he said he'll never sell it.

Nice to be able to do such things.

For me, it was a Talbot Horizon 1.1 LE - I reckon you'd struggle to find one today.

Perhaps my second car, a Cavalier GSi (in white) would be nice if there was any standard ones still around!

I'd definitely have another Cavalier, but then my second car (and current) is a Saxo so it's not all that surprising really.

You bet!

Rover Metro GTa , H reg , white with the black side moulding with red stripe .. No power steering .. those were the days! Handled brilliantly and went rather well for a 1.4 smile
Tho this time it'd be a white GTi .. Bodykit and with alloys ( oh the luxury biggrin ) oh and no choke smile

My Dad is sort of considering this at the moment now that he has taken early retirement, so we're keeping our ears to the ground for one of these smile
