From the BBC:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-12664047

I particularly like;
"I used to pull up at traffic lights and think they would go green in a little while, and leave my feet on the clutch and accelerator, but now I put it into neutral, the handbrake on and take my feet off the accelerator, which can save you about £10-20 a week."

I dont know anyone who sits at the lights and has the car idling at say 2000rpm because they have the foot on the gas while the lights are on red?!

And;
"And driving more smoothly is important. The more you are pressing the accelerator pedal, the more petrol you're running through the car, so if you keep it at a constant speed, at 40mph instead of 50, 30, 60, 20."

So in a 40mph limit people alternate between 20mph and 60mph?

It made me LOL anyway.

I took part in an eco driving challenge once.

Doing anything you can to avoid scrubbing off speed led me to start taking junctions and roundabouts at ludicrous and dangerous speeds. I had to have a word with myself.

Poorly written article.

They have one bit the wrong way around.

Everytime you hit the brakes, you are wasting fuel because you have to accelerate back up to your original speed when you could have been cruising.

I like to think that I am a fairly economical driver as I usually manage to beat the book figures for a car's consumption by a fair way. This involves me looking further ahead on the road, pulling out slightly earlier on motorways and DCs, and (if safe and clear to do so) going faster around bends so you are not speeding up again.

It's all about momentum and road choice.

Indeed, WTF!?

Perhaps she's always got the revs just right to dump the clutch for a racing start!
