And kind of feel I managed to get a decent deal - and sold them my mint fiesta.

£750 above book price, £250 below what I could probably get private.

What wound me up though was the fees! Yes I understand the £50 'handling fee' but as my car was absolutely mint (well it looked that way in the rain smile ) the 'inspector' couldn't take any money off it so he said:

'as we buy so many cars we don't know how long they will be in storage so we charge £100 for a full valet/sales prep'

Sorry, WHAT? £100 valet on a fiesta that's already at a v.high standard inside and out? Nice wax they must use!

Feel sorry for those bringing in 4x4s/big petrols/old wafters/anything that isnt mint as I over heard that he took off £1200 from a £7k online value as it had a couple of small bumper marks and a chunk out of 1 tyre!

They seem to be ok for small little cars but anything else I'd be patient and sell it myself!

Lol - yup! The crazy thing is that last year they offered online £3850 in sept, £3100 in oct, £2700 in dec then I tried one last time this week and they offered £3500. So even with the magic fairy dust 'valet' that they need to do for whoever the sell it to (yeah right) it just about made sense.

I just couldn't be ars3d with the great unwashed coming to look at the car for the next fortnight or however long it would have taken to sell the car.

Good job my little tidy up on the bodywork seems to have worked smile

Their online quote did offer a decent price on a diesel Fiesta I put through recently, but by the time they'd deducted money for every little bump and dent, plus the valeting fee, I'd probably be paying them to take it off my hands.
