Well I dont know about the mx5 
but it would be nice to have a huge reserve of power for those annoying people who do 40 in a 60.
I just think it would be a lot easier to have a turbojet you can use occasionally, instead of having all that extra power all the time, with a turbo and the associated fuel bills, extra wear etc.
I somehow dont think the police would be too keen however.

Assuming your not 8 and your next question isn't going to be about how many guns you can mount, where the hell are you going to get a turbo-jet from and don't you me a gas-turbine anyway!
A gas-turbine is similar but not the same, a gas-tubine drives a shaft that you could use through an appropriate gearbox to drive the wheels of your MX-5.
A tubo-jet will only provide thrust and the start up cycle and inital spooling of a turbo-jet big enough to push an MX5 would take too long to be much use for overtaking only, you'd have to have it on all the time in readiness for a manouvre.
Legally speaking, I think a gas-turbine powered car is likely to be OK but a turbo-jet powered car no chance!

Correction: Yes they do have a Rolls Royce Viper which is a Turbo-jet.Besides, owning a Turbo-jet (Turbo-fan/Gas-turbine) and running one are two very different things.
You can buy a Harrier on that site and it's Pegasus engine but how many people you know could put the two together and make it work?

and you will need ballz of solid Titanium to ever touch THAT button.
There must have been a resaon that even the speed-crazy US folks of the 60s outlawed this.
