Does the likes of V-Power make a difference in the likes of motorbike engines, I know this discussion has been done before and the general consensus was that most gains were for forced induction engines rather than anything NA, but would it have an effect on a carbureted high revving engine (i.e. Honda Fireblade)

I've never heard that the gains are limited to F/I before. I've seen tests with both N/A and F/I engines that show increases in bhp. I thought it was a simple case of higher octane and an engine with a knock sensor adjusting, and then the Shell-specific additives just adding to a clean burn and being kind to the engine.

Depends on whether the engine has a knock sensor. Forced induction/normal aspriation not relevent.

My memory might be playing tricks but I thought the threads generally came to the conclusion that you gained more from a FI engine using the higher octane than you did in an NA engine - although I could (read probably) be wrong.

Just wondering if it was worth paying the extra to fill up with the higher octane stuff in the kitcar. It's a 919cc engine, few extra bhp is always nice smile
