What component speakers?

I've decided to upgrade the sound system in the Z3M and after finding out the correct sizes, now I'm faced with multitude of brands, models etc. Which one would you choose out of THIS LOT?

I am having the same problem, anything with a decent RMS (100*ish?) and a MATCHING amp that can power them should do just fine IMO.

• OEM speakers are around 30-75watts RMS

I've used the Vibe SEK 60s and found them excellent. Really punchy with a crisp treble at what I thought to be a reasonable price. They were far better than the Sonys (forgotten the model, sorry) that I had before.

Have you got a local car audio shop? If so i'd recommend you go and ask advice and to listen to some speakers.

With a small diameter cone it's worth spending a reasonable amount of money so that they actually produce a bit of bass as well as mid range.
The entry level morels work well in my oh's e36 in 13cm.
Auto audio in park royal are distributors.

for quality you cant go far wrong with infinity or jl audio stuff, ive used both over the years and been very happy with the results

Rainbows are fantastic (a little dear). Its all about the head unit, or amp though.

Also, its worth using that tarry sticky sheet stuff that takes the zing out of the door metal (I cannot recall the name)...

What are you aims?
What is your budget?
What kind of music do you listen to?
How do you listen to it? (loud, quietly, for long periods?)
What other equipment if any do you plan on buying?
Will the speakers be amplified?

Improve the sound, it's crap at the moment.
Not more than £100 for the speakers
All different types
Louder with the roof up, quieter with it down
I've fitted Sony BT3800U for Bluetooth connectivity, I will get amplifier if needed, maybe a woofer if I'll find a place for it somewhere.
