I’m going to sell the VX220, basically it’s not getting used and I fancy a bike.

I’m looking to spend around 2K and my only real criteria is that it has to be able to carry two bikes, I know, almost everything can, apart from my current car.
Other than that I just want something fairly quick and reasonably entertaining to drive. Size isn’t an issue, I don’t need a massive saloon but at the same time I can live with 2 seats.

Something I can work on myself to a degree would be nice but I don’t want to spend all my time ‘tinkering’.
Economy isn’t a major issue, the car won’t be used for commuting very often so I won’t be racking up the miles.

At the minute I’m looking towards older BMW’s and Clio sports, I know both very different car types. I’m obviously concerned about a 2K Clio sport, I’m guessing finding one that’s not been driven to within an inch of it’s life will be difficult.

I’m at a loss and would appreciate a few idea thrown into the mix.

They really are difficult to overlook, hence the what car.

The issue I have is that there ae soooooooooooo many models.
I guess a 3 series saloon is better value than a coupe. Also, the 5 seems fairly cheap, I'm guessing they cost a lot more to run and have a lot more things to go wrong.

I run an E30 325i touring as my only car, perhaps a little older than you were thinking but in the price bracket. I don't actually need a car as I catch the train to work and could have my shopping delivered. I just put it in for an MOT and it did 1,800 miles last year.

I can get my mountain bike in my touring without taking off any wheels etc, you could probably put two inside with a little wriggling or popping off the front wheels.

Thats inside, not a bike rack on the back.
