Stripping car interior. Do I need to notify insurance?

As the title says really, I'm planning on removing the rear bench seats and carpet from my car.
Is this classed as a modification? If so do I need to inform my insurance?

Don't forget to inform them if you ever have a drink in the car etc as you are increasing the car's weight from manufacturer settings and adding a potential projectile in the event of an accident, all besides the fact that it is a potential distraction while driving thus marking you as a higher risk driver (if you subsequently decide against buying the drink, don't forget to inform them too as this marks you out as an even higher risk driver somehow).

Whilst you're on the phone, make sure to tell them you hold your breath while driving also as if exhaling you would be driving around with poisonous gas in the car, marking you as a higher risk driver. But be sure to tell them that at the same time you DON'T hold your breath while driving as that puts you at risk of suffocation, marking you as a higher risk driver.

What if it was stolen and recovered and the thieves had replaced the seats?you'd then need to pay for someone to remove them!

Dont forget that, just by folding your rear seats down your car will be faster, so removing them altogether will have the same effect as supercharging it.
