bmw 330ci se/sport

is it true that the sport model is no faster than a standard se model. apparently only the m sport facelift models are abit quicker, i beleive this is 03/04 onwards. so what about the sport models on a 01/02 plate are they the same spec has standard se models, correct me if im wrong but the sports only consist of m sport bumpers, 18 inch rims, m branded badges inside the car, and a thicker steering also sportier suspesion? anything else?

The 'Sport' name is purely spec-related. In no way will it actually be any quicker.

Well, theoretically it should be quicker in corners due to upgraded suspension...

No difference between SE and Sport in a straight line. Lovely cars in many ways, great engines, strong performance, nice in the way they sit on the road, and taut when you press on.

"Sports" isn't just about stright line speed.
I know the E36 "M-Sport" had altered suspension geometry and components, and is regarded as a very finely balanced car.
I don't know how much of the new "Sports" Spec is just huge wheels, lower ride height and trim level, but don't write them off as unsporting simply because the 0-60's are the same. Nothing with that engine is going to be exactly slow, anyway.
Look into what was changed if "sport" spec was added, and then drive one to see if you like it or not.
