To be honest it looks like the kind of car we all say we love as we take our money to the Porsche dealer for a Boxster. I don't know if I'd have the courage to spend my own cash on one.

yes, been waiting a while for it to actually launch as a road car. It *may be the 1st an only car I buy new.

• price dependant - its MX5 running gear means it won't be justifiable if its priced significantly higher than an MX5.

Have you driven a 150bhp 800kg car? Its more than enough on the road an plenty fun on track as well, I've easily embarrased 300bhp coupes on track with a lesser bhp/ton figure.

Agree with the colour.

Ginetta will be £36k inc VAT, top-spec MX-5 coupe is £22.300 inc VAT. So £14k difference. Ginetta includes safety cage. Not too bad a premium I'd say for an almost bespoke racing vehicle that's road legal, although I'd prefer a bit more oomph - 0-60=6 secs. Stick a turbo/supercharger on it? although I'm not sure how this would affect any race series entries.

looks great, probably will handle well, but I'm in the "not a hope for £36k inc VAT" camp. If I wanted something to throw around and corner well I could do better with that money. If I wanted to do £36k on a car it wouldn't be this.

Argue as much as you like about 150bhp 800kg etc, it just doesn't have the power I'd want, double it and then it's interesting.

looks awesome ...... spoke to a Ginetta engineer at Good wood festival of speed and he said that the handling is sublime and more oommphh can be added with Supercharging with relative ease.

I'd bolt a supercharger to my VX220 and keep the Audi Well I wouldn't,.. maybe... not sure it needs any more power. Its more fun as it is than my MX5 was with 260bhp.

Apart from the bad English and the abrupt rude and retarded reply, it's not comparable, I didn't spend £36k on the Nissan and it serves a different purpose, as I said I like the car, it looks like fun, I'm sure it handles well, the power to weight isn't much different but the Nissan isn't a twisty road throw about car, it would be like comparing your mum to your sister, but i wouldn't spend £36 on either...

That looks really nice, I like Ginetta's. Colour would be the key, the white one doesn't look much, but the orange looks a bit special, as would a few other colours. Mind you my S2 Type 72 Elise still looks good against it, and that's going for £12,000. Top marks Ginneta.

Just pointing out how daft it is that people read 150bhp and think "slow". The Ginetta would be faster than you're own car on all but a dual carriageway, yet you say not interesting as too slow..

Price is a bit of an ask....but looking at those specs......

Will the 'Ginetta' name have a bit more success than 'Farbio' thanks to it's recent racing pedigree?

Not what I said mate, I said I was in the camp of not worth £36k to me. I actually really like the car and quite clearly said so, I didn't start calling your cars st though, did I?

However, for £36k I wouldn't buy it, I love the look, appreciate that it probably handles well and corners well and would probably leave other higher power to weight vehicles for dead and be more sure footed around bends. For the money I just wouldn't buy it over other things on the market.

I don't want to get into a slanging match, there's too much of that on here anyway, don't misinterpret what I said, it wasn't a personal attack

Other than the mum and sister bit that is, but hey, you kind of asked for that
