Tyres - do you every worry about them?

When you're being demanding with your car, let's say at speeds in excess of 1.0 leptons (in the safety of a track or private road, of course) do you ever worry that your tyres might suddenly let you down?
All that power and weight, and just four little bags of rubber between you and the ground/surrounding scenery.
Or am I just getting old and it's the life-preservation genes kicking in?

t does happen it happens it's part of the risk of driving quickly. Yes, I make sure I give the tyres a quick check every time I wash the car. Obviously checking the inside edge isn't easy but I like the think if there was a bulge or a cut I would spot it.
The thought of a tyre letting go at (higher than) motorway speeds does worry me, though I tend not to venture too far over the limit these days.

I don't disagree. I only use premium brands and always change them well ahead of their design expiry, but that doesn't stop me thinking that...one day they might just not like going fast?never drive on perished / cracked tyres.

About an hour after I dropped the car off, the garage rang to say there was a nail in one of the rear tyres and it had been at about 10psi. That was sobering.

perfectly understandable view, In my opinion you spend the money to have confidence in your car, for instance mine that's why I push it so hard on a track because I'm confident all aspects of it can take it, if you worry or doubt anything you'll never be able to drive at your best/quickest IMO.Not disagreeing just different minds thinking different things.

That's definitely age-related though. My son is in his late teens and regularly sighs at me when we're on track, because he is much happier to take the car closer to its limits. Not disagreeing just different minds thinking different things.

well he is putting less sprung load through them 
Tyres are extremely reliable, and although I worry about them failing more than brakes, it's all part of living. Do you ever worry about lorries coming the other way on a motorway swerving aross into you? Lorry drivers not seeing stationary traffic and flattening everyone? Oncoming cars on A roads veering a few inches to one side and hitting you head on? Pedestrians falling in front of your car? Accepting a certain amount of risk is all part of driving and I think the risk of a tyre blow out at high speed is all part of it.
