People who pull up short at traffic lights.

It really bugs me when I'm queued behind some plonker who has pulled up so short of the line at lights that they don't cover the trigger loop.
Or those that achieve the same by rolling so far over the line before stopping, as if it will improve their progress...

Does anyone on here not know what I'm talking about?

I know what you mean. However, if I can see a biker filtering in my mirrors and the lights are at a junction that will take some time to change, I'll often leave room for him to come past and sometimes end up in front.

Only if there's a biker there though.

Exactly some traffic lights are staggered for cyclists. It's common curtiously to give them and bikers a bit of room. What is annoying is when you're on a bike and you don't weight enough or produce enough emp to trigger the lights. I've dismounted in the past and walked over to the pelican button and engaged the lights that way.

Yep totally agree. However, a slight aside I know but just as annoying is the person who sits at the lights and still sits there when the lights change to green. What else are they waiting for? Why aren't they watching the lights so they know when they turn green so they (and everyone else) can continue on their journey? They can't all be texting?

They're waiting for the car next to them to move, it saves them thinking for themselves. Unfortunately the filter lane light is still red...

I recently came across a massive queue that had built up behind a learner who had stopped short of the loop. The lights were changing back to red so quickly that the unfortunate learner mustn't have had time to engage gear, release handbrake, and pull away... You would think the instructor would have had more of a clue.
I waited a while as the lights kept changing with no-one making a move, then I used the empty bus lane to rectify the situation for all concerned.

I stop short but only when there is a traffic light camera there.

So I can move the car to the side without going though the lights this way I can make enough room for emergency vehicles to get past.

As if you jump the light to let one pass you still get fined and points even if it was to let the emergency vehicle pass.

I always, always check for emergency service vehicles when the light goes from red and amber to green. This may cause a few seconds delay if my view is obscured. I've seen an Ambulance a quarter of a mile up the road and waited on a green light until it has passed by.

My biggest bug bear at the moment is people who's cars don't come with handbrakes and will sit either on the clutch rolling back until you blast the horn at them or dazzle you with their super bright L.E.D brake lights until you put your main beems up in their mirrors.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean by that. I've got an automatic Skyline and find that with an Auto you use your brakes a hell of alot more due to a lack of being able to control car speed with gears, meaning I'm pissing people off alot more, lol

At lights and on hills though I'll tend to stick it into PARK if I'm gonna be sat there for more than 10 seconds, otherwise I'll just infuriate people behind me.

Doesn't stop the suckers doing it to me though even if they drive manual!!!

Yeah, this is a good point, some lights are hard to see when stopped at the line. It's bad design, like those right turn filters that don't trigger for more than a few seconds unless the first car has moved forward. Never mind that there's a queue built up that could be detected instead.

Doing this prevents one or two or three behind from getting through when the light turns to red.

umm lights don't go amber-green do they?

red, red and amber, green, amber, red

some funky weird lights you've got there or perhaps you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Maximising track position, to anticipate the light change from amber to green......floor hit when light changes to amber and one shouldn't pass the white stop line before the change to green occurs.

Yes... I've often wondered about this, which smart arse thought it was a good idea to put the traffic lights where the stop line is so you end up getting a sore neck trying to see the damn things.

In fact, don't get me started at all on traffic lights, I loathe them, especially as they seem to be putting them in places just for the sake of it at the moment around here.
